Standards

 This week's blog post will be on ELA standards. I learned today that the branch ELA is broader than just reading it covers all core subjects such as science, social studies and even history. The standard that I will be describing is standard LAFS.4.RI.3.7. This standard simply meanings being able to understand the material given to you so well that you are able to re-present it in another form such as visually, verbally, or even with making a chart or graph. I feel prepared to interpret this standard based on my current skills because I personally enjoy being able to interpret things in another way. I often see things in a different light from others and that helps me to be able to better grasp the concepts being presented. For my resource, I chose English language arts and original student tutorials for language arts- grades k-5.  My experience as a distance learner has been one for the books. With being a distance learner I have lost that hands-on experience that I am beyond accustomed to by this point in my academic career. I don't have the ability to formulate that one-on-one bond with my teachers like I usually do. I do however enjoy the freedom of being able to have more freedom. I don't have to be restrained and tied down in a classroom for several hours out of the week where I could be working to earn some extra funds. To improve the experience of distance learners as a teacher I could allow activities that help everyone to feel more connected.  Open educational resources are some of the best resources created. Using these resources allow students to be able to have access to resources that help to strengthen their educational paths without all those expensive fees. Who is Tee?

 Hello, my name is La'shay King but I go by Tee. I attend Florida State University with the major of Social Work and the minor of Psychology. I want to be in the position to help people the correct way and I feel that Social Work will help me do just that. I enjoy hanging out with friends but I know that school always comes first.  My prior experience with technology in an educational setting has been great. I took a computer skills class in high school and I feel that it helped me tremendously. I was able to get my certification in Microsoft, Excell and Word for 2012 I believe. It was one of my most important classes because all my other classes involved some sort of technology and I was able to breeze through that work as well. I absolutely love google.
